Every woman loves purses, handbags, totes, or whatever you call that thing we lug around with all of our “stuff” inside.  Women will tell you how hard it can be to find the perfect bag.  They’re usually too big, too small, have too many pockets or too few.  Many men can relate as they have even more limited options to tote their stuff around in.

When seeking the perfect bag, it’s good to keep in mind the following factors.  We find that those who craft handmade bags often take these into consideration.

1.    Is it big enough?  Think about what you are going to use it for – the daily necessities (wallet, cell phone, lip gloss?) or are you toting around a notebook as well?
2.    Does it have storage that can be easily accessed?  Where can you stash your phone so that you can grab it at a moment’s notice rather than rooting around in the bottom?  What about your keys, where will they go?
3.    What will it go with?  If this is an Everyday Bag look for a good neutral color.  Look for seasonal colors that pop to bring an extra bit of personality to your outfits.
4.    Will it last?  Look for durable materials like leather, canvass, or hemp.  Quality fabrics will withstand the test of time and all the many places you will put it.
